A thug scarred a man with a dumbbell after an apparent row over a wallet.
Grant struck repeatedly Mr Mallon on the head and body with the weight bar leaving him needing 23 stitches and staples.Grant pleaded guilty on Friday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Mallon to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.An anonymous 999 call was made to police in regards to a noise complaint of people screaming and violence.
Miss Bell:"He was open in his statement when he said there was an argument prior to the incident being described over a wallet."They ended up face to face however he then let go and walked away from Mr Grant.Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming. Grant, of the city's Scotstoun - who appeared from custody for a separate matter - had his bail for this offence continued meantime.
