Manchester City take on Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways.

Though City's 100 per cent start to the Premier League remains intact, they slipped to their first defeat of the campaign on Wednesday night as they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United. Alexander Isak's goal was the difference at St. James' Park, though Pep Guardiola didn't seem too concerned after the loss significantly lessened his side's schedule.

The manager said ahead of the game: "I think John is still not ready, Kevin is not ready. I think the rest is fine. I don't know about Bernardo." Kalvin Phillips wasn't spectacular at Newcastle but equally wasn't poor, so could continue in a double pivot with Kovacic that should allow both to get forward. City cantered to a win at Wolves last year with Phil Foden overlapping with Kevin De Bruyne on the right wing, with both providing for Erling Haaland in the centre and Jack Grealish on the opposite side.

Mateo Kovacic's return on Wednesday was a massive positive and he should be able to slip into the double pivot alongside Matheus Nunes on his return to Wolves. Jack Grealish is also back and given Molyneux is where his City career sparked to life last season it might be a good place for his season to get going as well.
