Here are the three things we learned from the Coyotes this weekend ahead of Monday's game against the Montréal Canadiens.
The Arizona Coyotes split its back-to-back games this weekend at Mullett Arena, playing to the young team’s emerging identity in the first game, but then paying the price for costly mistakes in the second game.
The penalty kill has certainly had some quality time on the ice this season with the Coyotes ranked fifth in the NHL in penalty minutes with 353. The team also ranks fourth overall with an average of 12:10 minutes spent in the box per game. “I think that helps sometimes in the whirlwind of the season, you keep playing games and you forget some basic thing that you’re missing,” Brown said following Friday's game.
