Three teenage girls have been killed in a crash just hours after receiving theirThe youngsters all died alongside the driver of the car involved, a man aged in his early 20s, in Co Tipperary on Friday evening.
It’s understood the group had been on their way to celebrate the results of their Leaving Certificate exams – the final tests in the Irish secondary school system. Local police in Clonmel confirmed all four suffered fatal injuries in the collision and died at the scene. A Garda spokesperson said Mountain Road in Clonmel was closed overnight and will remain shut into Saturday while the scene is examined by forensic investigators.The force said: ‘An incident room has been established at Clonmel Garda Station and a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation.‘Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the investigation team.
