Three SA Tourism board members have reportedly resigned. The news comes in the wake of the (almost) R1 billion Tottenham Hotspur sponsorship saga.

South African Tourism’s interim CFO Johan Van Der Walt has recently been linked to a sponsorship proposal with the English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur, that’s worth almost R1 billion.The report revealed that in exchange for the handsome sum would be a 36-month contract. South African Tourism would receive branding on players’ kits and free access to stadium hospitality, among other advertising opportunities and perks.

In a media briefing, SA Tourism CEO Themba Khumalo said that there was “no involvement of an agent or middleman in this proposed partnership,” as reported byHowever, around R31 million, according to Khumalo’s PowerPoint, would be paid to Tottenham Hotspur by WWP Group – a company to which Van Der Walt admitted having links.

Now, Enver Duminy, Ravi Nadasen and Rosemary Anderson – board members from South African Tourism – have resigned with immediate effect, according to
