Police responded to an 11:17 p.m. call after an altercation broke out in the Islington Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard area, where a man was shot and a woman was stabbed. Both were transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, and one person was arrested. About two hours later, police responded to a call at St. Clair Avenue East and Brimley Road, following concerns of gunshots heard in the area.
