Three P.E.I. teams recorded one-goal wins in their opening games in the Major Under-15 Division of the SaltWire East Coast Ice Jam tournament on Jan.
The Pownal-based Eastern Express edged the Northern Moose 2-1, Charlottetown’s Central Attack prevailed 3-2 over the TriPen Ice and the Mid-Isle Matrix, who play out of Crapaud, pulled out a 3-2 decision over the Northwest Bulls.
All three teams continue play on Jan. 12 while the Prince County Warriors see their first action in major U15 play.Rowan Walsh and Carson Murnaghan scored for the Express. Brody Molloy and Jackson Batchilder added assists.The Express held period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.Nate Silvaggion, Jacob Burke and Ramsey MacInnis scored for the Attack. Will Dunn chipped in with a pair of assists.There was no scoring in the first period, and the Attack took a 3-1 lead into the final frame.
