There will be three overnight closures in both directions on Highway 17 in the coming weeks for work to be done on the Keating overpass.
The closures will take place on July 25, July 29 and Aug. 7. The July 25 and Aug. 7 closures will take place from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., then the July 29 closure will be slightly longer from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The highway will be closed in both directions and there will be a detour along Tanner Road, Central Saanich Road and Island View Road during the closures.Vehicles with a width of greater than 2.6 metres will not be able to use the detour and must use alternative routes, the B.C. government says.Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.
The project costs $76.8 million with the B.C. government contributing $57.6 million, federal government contributing $16.7 million and Central Saanich contributing $2.5 million.
