Brandon Drakes-Simon, his then-girlfriend Melnee Christian, Jason Williams and Justin Malcolm “were hired by unknown enemies” of drug dealer and pimp Mario Ibrahim, the Crown said.
Three men and a woman have been sentenced to life in prison after a Brampton jury found them guilty of first-degree murder for the “contract killing” of 26-year-old Mario Ibrahim.
The prosecution was successful in convincing the jury that Brandon Drakes-Simon was the gunman who shot Ibrahim, 26, while he waited in his car outside a Webb Drive condo complex shortly before midnight on Oct. 22, 2019. Crown attorney Peter Maund said Ibrahim “was lured into a trap, which was planned in advance and sprung immediately once he was in position.”
Drakes-Simon, and Williams were also found guilty of attempted murder for a botched attempt to kill Ibrahim two days earlier when a vehicle he was travelling in was shot at on Highway 401 minutes after leaving the Mississauga club where Christian worked. Ibrahim and the driver of the vehicle escaped unharmed.
