Three teenagers have been arrested on a charge of murder in Polokwane.Three teenage boys have been arrested after the charred body of a metered taxi driver was found in the Westenburg area in Polokwane, Limpopo last week. Along the way, they allegedly stabbed the driver to death before burning his body and dumping it on a newly developed site near the Place of Safety Shelter in Westenburg.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said a 17-year-old minor was arrested on Tuesday, while two of his accomplices, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Friday. "All of the arrested suspects in this horrendous crime were found to be minors… very disturbing that our children are now involved in such criminal activities," Limpopo Provincial Commissioner General Thembi Hadebe said.
"This exhibits an unbelievable lack of moral fibre by robbing the victims and murdering them so brutally… unacceptable in this province," he added. The suspects are expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court in due course following the completion of the diversion programmes with the probation officer and social workers. We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
