NHSGGC have issued an apology following a clinical review. It comes after a Glasgow doctor was suspended following the death of three patients after they were not followed up appropriately.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has issued an apology following a clinical review of patients who had a colonoscopy between 2020 and 2022 performed by one of its doctors.
The consultant, who cannot be named, covered areas within Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire, East Dunbartonshire, and Inverclyde - they were then suspended in November of 2022 following the tragic revelation.READ MORE: Man arrested under Glasgow bridge following reports of 'concern for woman'
Professor Colin McKay, Deputy Medical Director, NHSGGC said: “We would like to offer our sincere apologies to patients who were not followed up appropriately and our condolences to the families of those patients who have died. “We would like to reassure patients that we have already contacted all those patients affected and that no other patients should be concerned that they may be involved.
