More details are emerging about the victims as US authorities investigate whether the killer was a far-right, neo-Nazi sympathiser.
Mr LaCour's grandmother described him as"such a beautiful soul", according to a post on Facebook.
He had a patch reading 'RWDS' on his chest when police shot him dead, an acronym that means Right Wing Death Squad. It's also emerged the killer was kicked out of the army after just three months in 2008. An army official, speaking anonymously, said it was due to mental health issues.
