2 teens among 3 wounded in drive-by shooting in Auburn Gresham
The shooting happened just after 2 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Wolcott Avenue, across the street from Barton Elementary School. Bullet casings lined the street Saturday evening outside the family's home. A neighbor said she had just walked inside her home with her grandchildren when she heard rapid gunfire seconds later.
One of her family cars was hit by a stray bullet right where her grandchildren were sitting in carseats. "My husband's daughter, her car, it went through the back. Two carseats back there. It could've been the babies. I'mkind of heartbroken, very distraught. These kids have to go to school," said Lisa Pinkney.
The 15-year-old was shot in the leg and is expected to be OK. The 17 and 21-year-olds were in critical condition Saturday evening. The 17-year-old was struck in the back, and the 21-year-old was struck in the head, police said.
