Ahsoka's quest for Grand Admiral Thrawn looks set to take her to the World Between Worlds - and a chilling Star Wars theory may explain why.
A new Ahsoka theory suggests a returning Grand Admiral Thrawn will launch his attacks from the World Between Worlds - having experienced a dark future for the Star Wars galaxy. The full marketing push for Ahsoka has finally begun, but the upcoming Disney+ TV show remains as mysterious as ever. The main focus naturally lies on Lars Mikkelsen's Grand Admiral Thrawn, a character originally created by legendary author Timothy Zahn who has now become a vitally important part of canon.
Ahsoka is strongly tied to the World Between Worlds - she's only alive because of it, after all - but these connections are still a mystery. The trailer font deliberately evokes the World Between Worlds, and several teaser images - including the recent Empire Magazine cover - have shown symbolism and imagery representing it. Ahsoka has been seen exploring what seems to be an ancient Jedi Temple - one with inscriptions reminiscent of the World Between Worlds.
Ezra and Thrawn are enemies, it is true. But it is quite possible that, over the missing decade, they have reached an agreement - one that saw Ezra unlock the World Between Worlds. Alternatively, it's possible Ezra tried to escape Thrawn by opening the way, and the Grand Admiral followed. Either scenario would work, but both would end with Thrawn in the World Between Worlds. He could easily have become trapped there, or potentially even stepped through one of those portals into the future.
