Star Wars author Timothy Zahn has more plans in mind for novels featuring Grand Admiral Thrawn, taking the character into the post-Rebels era.
Longtime Star Wars author Timothy Zahn is interested in doing more Thrawn. Having created Grand Admiral Thrawn for the Legends novel Heir to the Empire, Zahn is often credited for keeping Star Wars alive during a time when there was little of the franchise available for fans. Thrawn has gone on to become a staple of Legends and canon media, appearing in two seasons of the animated series Star Wars Rebels before disappearing... until the live-action Ahsoka show drops in August.
"I would like to write more novels. And we pitch ideas to Lucasfilm. As for Thrawn, there's a nine-year gap between the end of Rebels and the character's reappearance in Ahsoka. There are things to do during this time. I'll keep you up-to-date!" Grand Admiral Thrawn Has Become Star Wars' "Next Big Thing" As The Mandalorian's narrative turns a corner, all signs are pointing to Grand Admiral Thrawn. With a few namedrops in The Mandalorian season 3 and a glimpse at the Chiss in the Ahsoka trailer, Lucasfilm is priming Thrawn to be the ultimate antagonist of the Mandoverse.
