The 22-year veteran of the Toronto Police force is survived by his wife and two teenaged children, as well as his parents. Both Premier Doug Ford and Mayor John Tory have spoken publicly about Const. Hong. The mayor referred to him as a hero and Ford spoke about the senseless tragedy that saw Hong shot just because he was wearing a uniform.
The private funeral service for Const. Hong will be held at noon at the Toronto Congress Centre North Building at 1020 Martin Grove Rd.Article content The funeral will be attended by Const.
