Holidaymakers travelling with Ryanair, EasyJet, Tui and Jet2 this summer have been urged to familiarise themselves with the current hand luggage rules as they're set to change in major shake-up
Holidaymakers are being encouraged to familiarise themselves with the current liquids hand luggage rule as more bags are being 'rejected' at airport security. A number of travellers have reported delays at security with some even missing flights as a result of non-compliant liquid products in their carry on.
Passengers will no longer be restricted to the 100ml liquids hand luggage rule and instead, will be able to go through security with up to two litres of liquid products in their carry on, whether it's in the form of aerosols, drinks, toothpaste, cosmetic creams or gels. But the upcoming rule change has caused confusion for passengers, with some believing the changes had already been made and causing hold-ups at security when their bags are rejected, as Birmingham Live reports.
"This can be confusing to our customers and on average 15 per cent of bags are rejected as they are not compliant with current security restrictions. For each customer, a non-compliant bag adds ten minutes on top of their security search time.
