Excited families enjoyed a day out at the Great Harwood Agricultural Show where they got up close to pygmy goats, Highland cows, multiple breeds of sheep and cattle in all shapes and sizes.

There was judging for a huge range of animal classes, including dogs, pygmy goats, sheep, cattle, light and heavy horses, Shires and Shetlands and show jumping.Visitors revelled in Lamb National races, an egg-catching competition, birds of prey, sheepdog and duck herding, hedge-laying, sheep-shearing, bonsai, willow-weaving, and 100 vintage and classic vehicles, featuring fewer than 40 Morris Minors.

A charity dog show entertained guests while dog owners let their pooches try out an agility course. Market stalls showcased local produce and served dishes from around the world while bars, independent traders and charity stalls were also available for visitors to browse on the new ‘Artisan Avenue’.Afterwards Kevin Murray, health and safety manager, said: “The 10 unpaid committee members, the Rotary and other volunteers were jubilant after receiving messages of thanks from all over the Borough.
