This startup is bringing the dentist to your office:
Henry the Dentist
Since launching its mobile dental fleet in 2017, Henry has expanded to four states and partnered with more than 70 companies. This early traction has caught the interest of venture capitalists—in March, Forerunner Ventures announced a $10 million Series A financing round that included participation from Brand Foundry Ventures and Trail Mix Ventures.
Less than two years after founding the company, Joffe and Ketcheson got married. Now, they seem themselves as “raising” Henry together. “Henry is our first child, it’s our startup child,” Joffe said. “It is expensive, it keeps us up at night. It is everything a first child would be.” For Henry, one challenge will be convincing those people to make the switch if they already have a brick-and-mortar dentist. “Most people have been to a dentist, and so it's a need to convert somebody from something that they've probably already had an experience from,” said Kirsten Green, founding partner of Forerunner, which is known for its investments in consumer brands like Warby Parker, Dollar Shave Club and Glossier.
