Burnaby's Central Park Pool will be enclosed permanently in a tent-like structure to allow all-seasons pool access. “Let’s get this done. It’s been a long time coming,” said Mayor Mike Hurley.

Burnaby’s Central Park Pool is one step closer to being fully covered from inclement weather – permanently.

An attempt to keep the Kensington Outdoor Pool open throughout the winter with a temporary deck cover was slammed by the mayor in December as “a complete embarrassment.” Staff estimated the structure could be completed in eight months, the fastest of four options presented, at a cost of $3 million to $4 million.
