The three-storey home is split into three separate residential units, and even includes a private deck on the top floor.
The custom-built residence at 138 St. Clarens Ave., near Little Portugal, is just eight feet wide, according to realtor Keven Trudel.
“The design itself is very unique,” Trudel told the Star. “It’s not big, but it’s very long. There’s a massive difference from when you see the unit from the exterior — it looks very narrow — compared to when you get inside.” The three-year-old house, which sits on a once-vacant lot, is located on a quiet, residential road off College Street. Among the mid-century semi-detached brick houses on St. Clarens Avenue, the skinny house certainly stands out.
Living in a skinny house, however, does have its quirks. The elongated kitchen — though it has a surprising amount of countertop space — is reminiscent of a plane galley. “I got some hate about that,” Trudel said with a chuckle, after the property made some headlines over the weekend.
