Jobs graduated from high school in Cupertino, California, in 1972. Afterward, he attended Reed College, a liberal arts school in Portland, Oregon, for one semester before dropping out. He then worked for video game maker Atari and then traveled to India to study Zen Buddhism. "We started Apple because we wanted the product ourselves," Jobs said in 1991."We didn't start out to build a large company. We started out to build a few dozen computers for us and our friends."Apple went public in 1980, and Jobs, then in his mid-20s, became a multimillionaire.
