This Ciara hit was nearly given to Britney Spears
, revealing that in a different life the song which catapulted her career could have been a Britney track.
Ciara claimed that after switching labels from Arista Records to Jive Records, the song was nearly taken from her.. I had to re-audition again, to be picked up and to be made a priority on the label. I did that, had a showcase, rocked it. Okay, boom, check," the publication quoted the singer. CiCi says she had no idea that"behind the scenes, there was a conversation about this song being potentially taken from me and given to an artist like Britney Spears, who was on the same roster as me".
Well, we're glad Ciara was able to keep the chart-topping hit. Although, now that we know, it would be interesting to hear Britney cover the song.
