Six years after winning the second of back-to-back Vancouver Sun Run titles, the 37-year-old captures her third 10K elite women’s race
She runs for herself, certainly. But Natasha Wodak also runs for orphaned kittens. And to see her mom’s smiling face in the finish area.
So what keeps her coming back? Kodak quickly turned to her mom, Patti, who was standing nearby after the two exchanged hugs and laughs. Running the race also allows her to get the message out about the work done by VOKRA. Wodak has one cat of her own, but often fosters kittens. Middleton said she was happy with a 10K road personal best and a second-place finish against “a very talented Canadian field. It was so much fun running with Malindi and Natasha.
She’ll return to Arizona this week to continue training for the 10,000 metres on the track at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Palo Alto, Calif., on May 2. The 2016 Olympian and Canadian record holder at 10,000 metres needs to go under 31:50 there to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
