THINKING OUT LOUD: ICYMI May 9th — Make Your Move Day in Nova Scotia | SaltWire
: So how do we get that message through, that a little bit of effort today pays long-term dividends?: I'm kind of thinking about how you opened the segment talking about the health care system, health and wellness and how we all have an individual role to play in our own health, in terms of prevention and maintaining our health.
If we just leave it up to individuals, we will not have any progress. But if we engage everyone in the process… and you know, Nova Scotians, are very proud, and they love to be part of something. We love to be leaders. And in health promotion, we've actually been leaders in a lot of issues.
And so, we really want Nova Scotians to be proud and to see ourselves as people that value our health. And we can do so by being active in really simple ways. Like I said, it doesn't have to be sports and exercise and it's a great opportunity to connect with others. So we're hoping Nova Scotians, through this proclamation, Premier Houston has really encouraged Nova Scotians to pledge their support, to create this cultural shift to our movement is appreciated and valued.
We won't be finished this at the end of the year, we know we're going forward many years. And we're also really excited to start this new project with CCTH about Make Your Move communities in Antigonish, Yarmouth and Lockport and that's where we're providing intensive support and presence for the campaign to see if we do that.
