While KwaZulu-Natal , Northern Cape , Free State and Western Cape showed some modest growth in 2017, the Eastern Cape registered the least. Gauteng was followed by KwaZulu-Natal , the Western Cape , Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga , Limpopo , North West , Free State and Northern Cape in contributions to the national economy.
