Every year, a fresh crop of designer bags is released, with each offering new colors and silhouettes for the spring and fall seasons. But a look only reaches truestatus when celebrities start wearing them—call it the trendsetter effect!—and this year, there were certainly hero styles that all the stars kept on their arms while out and about, from Rihanna to Gigi and Bella Hadid. Here, we’re rounding up the handbags that took off in 2022.
Other designer bags, meanwhile, made more of a statement. When Saint Laurent released its jumbo Icare tote, complete with quilted leathers and a big “YSL” logo, the bold bag was instantly spotted on the shoulders of Bella Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, and Angelina Jolie. Dua Lipa also sported Luar’s Ana bags on a few occasions, choosing styles in a punchy green or sleek black colorway.
