Former Wallaby Morgan Turinui believes there could be a solution to the Waratahs’ mounting problems. He wants to see Coleman remain in coaching in Australia, but also wants the Waratahs and Rugby Australia to target former coach Michael Cheika to help restore a winning mentality in the team. Rugby Australia’s new high-performance director, Peter Horne, has been tasked with helping the Waratahs board review the organisation, which includes deciding the future of the coach. Cheika’s recruitment would provide a compelling prospect as Australian rugby seeks to rebuild from a disastrous World Cup, where the Wallabies missed the knockout stage for the first time.
