, the menus are dotted with dishes she grew up eating: crispy pork-filled egg rolls, hearty bowls of rice porridge and a fried whole fish, to name a few.on June 10 at 8133 Long Point Road in Spring Branch, they’re departing from a playbook of classic and modern riffs on Vietnamese cuisine. Instead, Ha’s other comfort food takes the spotlight: sandwiches.
“John and I are excited to introduce Stuffed Belly to the Spring Branch neighborhood,” Ha said in a prepared statement. “Sandwiches are some of our favorite comfort foods, and we want to share our own take on them with our beloved hometown of Houston.”It’s been a busy 2023 for Ha and Suh ahead of the Stuffed Belly opening, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. .
This more casual restaurant is one they could possibly grow in the future, Ha told the Chronicle earlier this year. For the Blind Cook, as Ha was known on “MasterChef” because of her limited vision due to neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, Stuffed Belly is as much a business endeavor as it about her love for sandwiches.
