Olympic medalists Olha Saladukha, Zhan Beleniuk and Stanislav Horuna have told IOC president Thomas Bach that Russian and Belarusian athletes should be banned from Paris 2024

Saladukha would however welcome athletes competing who sign a letter speaking out against the war.

Saladukha says she has been in talks with representatives of more than 25 countries, including 2024 hosts France, over presenting a united front to Bach and the IOC. Saludukha now serves in the Ukrainian parliament in Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People party “For me it would be impossible because I can’t shake hands with athletes from these countries when the army of Russia, and the Belarusian leader is giving them opportunity to do this, is killing Ukrainian people, civilians, taking our territory and doing so many cruel things,” he tellsThat is not the case for Stanislav Horuna.
