The James Webb Space Telescope has not spotted aliens 10 light years away as some conspiracy theories suggest.
The James Webb Space Telescope is one of the most powerful space observatories humanity has ever built. Unfortunately, because of its reputation, some are using that power to claim the telescope is seeing things it hasn’t.
Since then, a number of videos have appeared online, often stringing together different videos and images in a bid to reports that JWST has indeed spotted aliens headed for Earth.Did JWST discover aliens and an asteroid headed towards earth? No 😀 idk what else to say other than its made up lol “My first thought in looking at the galaxy’s spectrum was, ‘that’s weird,’ which is exactly what the Webb telescope was designed to reveal: totally new phenomena in the early universe that will help us understand how the cosmic story began,” said lead researcher Alex Cameron of the University of Oxford.
The JWST has already helped scientists gain a better understanding of the cosmos, and this latest discovery may help to better understand how stars are formed. The power of JWST allows researchers to effectively peer back through time and see light from galaxies that formed billions of years ago.
