At least a dozen reports have been received since Jan. 1., eight involving thefts from vehicles and four involving property damage.
West Shore RCMP are investigating a series of thefts from vehicles and mischief to property in Langford and Metchosin.
Several of the complainants have given similar descriptions of a male suspect, with one person capturing a photo of a suspect via home surveillance about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The suspect was wearing a green or camouflage-patterned jacket with a white logo on the upper left side, black pants and white runners. He had a bright green cloth covering the bottom half of his face.
