arrives tomorrow, December 14th, and we now have the patch notes to know a little of what to expect — although CDPR does say that it's not giving everything way...The update will include"various visual, performance, and technical enhancements, as well as fixes and additional content," theconfirm. We know the update improves"the overall quality of graphics on next-gen consoles.
Then there's the new content inspired by Netflix's The Witcher show — we can get this by completing the new side quest, In The Eternal Fire's Shadow, in Velen. There will also be alternative appearances for Dandelion and the Nilfgaardian armour inspired by the show. The update also adds cross-progression between platforms, a new weather type , 4K upscaled texture for characters like Geralt and Yennefer, a photo mode, the option to pause during cutscenes, and that extra camera option that we saw discussed after this update was announced that's"closer to the player's character and that reacts more dynamically to combat and movement."
There are a number of gameplay fixes and quality-of-life changes, such as an option for quick sign casting, while Geralt's fall damage has been adjusted, letting him survive from slightly higher heights. You can slow walk with a controller, and there will be another sprint mode option too. CDPR reiterates that these are"just the highlights," and that they've left a number of changes and details for players to find themselves as a surprise.
