The war on Ukraine: 'There will be no peace negotiations with Russia'
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak is unassuming in his black hoody but sharp and convincing in his assessment of Russia's unprovoked war.“There is no space for negotiations with Russia. They want to destroy Ukraine. They tried with their military blitzkrieg. We must and we will prevail.”
“In 2014, they annexed Crimea to create a launching pad for their more serious attack on Ukraine. They amassed 247 700 troops on our borders. They sacrificed their world status to launch a war,” Podolyak says. “Don’t be fooled, Russia present this image that they are strong. This is wrong. They have many allies that are supplying them with weapons.
“Russia fights with manpower and artillery in one direction, wave after wave. If the other side has a deficit, then it is problematic. The enemy forms small assault teams and motivates them with money and the right to loot whatever they want,” Podolyak says, adding that the Russian parliament has passed a law which absolves its soldiers of war crimes, essentially making them unpunishable.
