After a long break, the Volunteer Wildlife Services Open Day is back! A day filled with exciting activities dedicated to raising awareness around wildfires:

This year’s Open Day event is set to be held on the 3 December at the Newlands Forest Fire Base from 9 am to 4 pm.

You can expect a day filled with exciting activities such as abseiling, snake displays, fire truck rides, tug-of-war, and indoor and outdoor exhibitions including helicopter displays. Firefighters will also be demonstrating their firefighting skills.The combats dangerous wildfires, with 300 volunteers located at 4 bases in the Western Cape and are on standby 24 hours a day to respond to fires and emergencies.
