‘The Traitors’ reunion, which reconvened “traitors” and “faithfuls” alike, uncovered a shocking romance, surprising betrayals, and more.
The group then got into an argument about the structure of the game—namely, who has a worse go of it from a contestant standpoint. “I was a faithful for a long time, not knowing if I was going to make it to breakfast every morning. That’s stressful in itself,” Arie contested, adding, “You had control over your situation. I had no control.” Cirie maintained that she was “chosen” for the role and also had no say. “But you had more control than any of the faithfuls,” Andie argued.
Ever the voice of reason, Kate offered the final take on this matter: “[Arie] had fear as a faithful, you guys just had a little guilt, but that guilt came with a payday. So I feel a little less bad for you guys, ok?”Arie voluntarily stepped away from the show without mentioning that another traitor lingered. But he said his final moments held hints for Andie and Quentin about Cirie. “I didn’t say ‘congratulations,’ I said ‘good luck,’” Arie explained.
Cirie largely brushed off Quentin’s critique, insisting that they weren’t as close as she and Andie were throughout the process. That bond was the reason Andie felt so betrayed, they explained. “You knew I was having a kid on the way, you knew that I wanted top surgery—like, gender-affirming care. We talked about that stuff so it was for sure painful,” Andie told a tearful Cirie. “It was never a thought in my mind that you were a traitor. It never was.
Although Cirie largely sidestepped any responsibility for playing the game as intended, she did offer Andie an emotional mea culpa. “What we discussed, all the in-depth conversations we had, was 100% authentic for me and you,” Cirie said. “It just so happened that it occurred during this game called. You can make real, authentic, lifelong friends from playing some of these games. And if that’s all you get out of it and you don’t win, then it’s worth it.
