That time the Thing out-thought Mr. Fantastic.
Warning - Spoilers for Fantastic Four #11 ahead!Reed Richards is often held as "the smart one" among the Fantastic Four, but that doesn't mean that he's the smartest all the time - nor that his teammates like the Thing are unintelligent. Even though Ben Grimm is known more for his fists and hard-headed exterior, he still knows how to think his way out of a tight spot - and he does so in ways that leave Reed struggling.
The issue turns into a showcase of Ben's quick thinking under pressure: first, calling upon his field experience as a test pilot, he jury-rigs together a device to figure out how fast and far he's falling. When the physics don't add up in several situations, he's able to deduce that what he's experiencing is actually an illusion - and sure enough, the whole scenario proves to be the work of Joshua Ayers aka the "Miracle Man", whom Ben quickly subdues.
