The T20 League that charmed Mzansi
In total, 33 high-octane matches were played across six venues – Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Paarl, Johannesburg and Centurion.
The inaugural SA20 League certainly lived up to its pre-tournament hype, and some breathtaking cricket was played in front of packed stadiums. There were some big money players who were big hits and also those who cost an arm and a leg, but never really got up and going to fire on all cylinders for their respective teams.
Veterans Faf du Plessis , a former South Africa captain, and his age- mate Roelof van der Merwe, the erstwhile Proteas spinner who now plays for his adopted country the Netherlands, showed the youngsters how it’s done.
