The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 has started filming as shown in a new behind-the-scenes photo. The Summer I Turned Pretty first premiered on June 17 on Prime Video. The series is based on the book series of the same name written by Jenny Han. The series follows 16-year-old Isabel"Belly" Conklin who heads to Cousins Beach with her mom Laurel , and brother Steven to spend summer break with the Fischer family.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Belly has been going to Cousins Beach for as long as she can remember, due to her mom and Susannah's close friendship. Meanwhile, she has always harbored a crush on Conrad ever since she was a little girl. With Conrad persistently feigning disinterest in her, though, she begins to consider dating Jeremiah, who has always been her best friend.
The fact that The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 is officially filming means that more photos may be forthcoming, as well as hints and teasers about what to expect next. Meanwhile, the timing of season 2's filming is in line with viewers' anticipation for a potential season 2 release date sometime in the summer of 2023. With season 1 premiering in summer and the series being summer-themed, it makes sense for season 2 to debut around the same time next year.
Regardless of what season 2 holds, it seems Tung and Han are eager to tackle it. Seeing Han featured in the first photo of filming is also likely to reassure her fans that the author is very much involved in the production process of the show. This is why The Summer I Turned Pretty boasted such a strong first season, with Han playing a hands-on role and finding a balance between being faithful to the book while also finding new, meaningful ways to expand the story.
