The author reflects on the state of Johannesburg , writing that he has no doubt the city has entered a downward spiral of infrastructural decay and degeneration. Last week, driving from Campus Square in Auckland Park to Melville, I could not believe the ruined condition of parts of the road, where potholes have turned into dangerous craters. So bad was it that it was impossible to even try and navigate that section by avoiding the craters.
However, that is the condition of much of the roads of Johannesburg these days, even in sections of the CBD
