Shane Watkins from All Weather Capital said Datatec ’s share price is around 50% undervalued, which means it could see a significant rally if it re-rates.

It has grown significantly since its early days. It included numerous acquisitions, including buying a US distributor Westcon, UK-based Analysys, and the Germany-based Siticom. It currently offers a range of ICT services worldwide, including information security, networking, unified collaboration, cloud, and data centre technologies.

Underlying earnings exclude impairments, profit or loss on the sale of investments and assets, amortisation of acquired intangible assets, and unrealised foreign exchange movements. With these additions, its earnings per share is expected to be between 19.0 and 21.0 US cents — between 48.5% and 43.1% lower than the previous year.Business Day TV that Datatec’s share price, which closed at R37.35 on Friday, should be around R70.00.
