The Sixth Commandment: Who was Ann Moore-Martin and what happened to her?
The BBC is showing a new TV drama that tells the story of a complex and harrowing true crime. The Sixth Commandment stars Timothy Spall and Anne Reid, who lead the cast as Peter Farquhar and Ann Moore-Martin, two pensioners who were targeted by twisted Benjamin Field in a sinister plot.
At the age of 81, she met Field in November 2015 - being completely unaware that the PhD student had killed her neighbour just one month before. Field wrote Ann love poems and notes, telling her: "I love you, I long to make a life with you, a life of sharing, of mutual nourishment, in love and grace."
What happened to Ann Moore-Martin? Field started to put pressure on Ann to change her will. He wrote 'messages from God' on her mirrors - an example of the extreme tactics that eventually led to Ann making Field a beneficiary.
