Retirees will be looking for easy ways to top up their pension pots
If someone began working full-time with a salary of £25,000 per year, and paid the minimum enrolment contributions from the age of 22, they would retire at the age of 66 with a total retirement fund of £434,000.
Pensions can be an especially tax-efficient way of saving for higher rate taxpayers. For example, if you earn £65,000 a year and put £10,000 into a pension through salary sacrifice, the whole £10,000 would go in as a contribution. This can be useful for those approaching retirement age wanting to maximise as much tax relief as possible.
