IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETON POST“There’s such a friendly feeling to this whole thing, lots of comradeship,” said Maggie Renzi of Guilford, Conn., marking her return visit to the festival since 2019, joined by a travelling friend, Michael Preston of Hartford, Conn. “And of course good music in a friendly place.”

IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETONFirst-time festivalgoers Kurt and Pamela Jaenicke, both from Rhode Island, recall coming through Cape Breton about four years in a sailboat and heard about the festival, vowing one day to return to catch as many live acts as possible.
