French serial killer Charles Sobhraj, known as The Serpent, has been filmed on London's Westminster bridge wearing a false beard and wig, surrounded by unsuspecting tourists
Freed serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who allegedly murdered 20 backpackers in Asia, has been spotted amongst tourists in London.
Now pictures show him visiting the UK wearing a false beard and wig, while he his being filmed for a documentary. He is shown stopping to take pictures of Big Ben and talking about his ability to flee justice. In the documentary he boasts: “I was like a shadow.” The show includes tapes of Sobhraj in a Delhi jail, talking about the killing of US tourist Teresa Knowlton, 21, in Bangkok in 1975.
Sobhraj is unable to explain to former Detective Chief Inspector Jackie Malton and Commander Gary Copson why he was caught with possessions belonging to murdered travellers or how he crossed borders using their passports.Describing Sobhraj as sinister, Mr Copson told the Mirror: “The first thing I said to him was, ‘This is not a social visit, I am here to challenge you’.
