Working with Almodóvar is a unique kind of filmmaking experience, Swinton said, moving at a breakneck speed. “The thing about Pedro is he works unbelievably fast and that is a challenge, because it was a feat of faith, faith in us really. We had to really dig deep to go, ‘Really? You don’t want to see what else I could do with this? You’re clear and you want to move on?’ We finished it incredibly fast. The film was cut by the time we finished shooting.
