Camila McConaughey detailed in an Instagram post the “chaos” aboard Flight 469 that left from Austin earlier this week.
The Airbus A330 experienced severe turbulence at an altitude of 37,000 feet while flying over Tennessee, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. Camila McConaughey said she was told the plane dropped 4,000 feet. The severe clear-air turbulence lasted about 90 minutes after takeoff and led to an unscheduled landing at Washington Dulles International Airport. Seven people on the flight were taken to the hospital for injuries believed to be minor. There were 127 passengers on the plane.
