The values of individual liberty, hard work and freedom for all are deeply rooted within the soil of our state and hearts of our people. Yet, it’s not enough merely to defend our basic rights and freedoms, we must also be adamant that the law should be applied equally to all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identification.

No one should live in fear of facing discrimination simply because of who they are or where they live. That’s why HB300 would also effectively end the uncoordinated patchwork of municipal protections across the Commonwealth which actively breed confusion and pain for LGBT individuals traveling in jurisdictions where their rights are protected and where they aren’t.

When we treat everyone with dignity and respect, everyone has the opportunity to work hard, support their families, and contribute to our nation.
