Police officers allegedly opened"frivolous cases" against Investigating Directorate detectives to intimidate and obstruct the law enforcement personnel investigating former police officer Brigadier James Ramanjalum and controversial businessman Kishene Chetty for their alleged role in tender fraud.
This is according to a letter, which News24 has seen, by ID director, advocate Andrea Johnson, addressed to National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola. In the letter, Johnson asked Masemola to launch an internal investigation against police officers who allegedly conspired with Ramanjalum and Chetty to open bogus criminal cases to harass and intimidate law enforcement officers who were investigating them.
