Extracting oil and gas from its parks could be lucrative for state coffers.

It’s unclear how quickly that might begin. Companies and government officials tend to keep prospective projects under wraps to protect negotiations.State Rep. Adam Holmes, a Republican from Nashport, and Norm Blanchard, director of the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corp., said DeWine denied Encino a permit to drill.
